Cultural Shock in USA
I’ve been well prepared for the cultural shock that one’s can experience by living in the U.S.A. A year and a half already passed by and I’m still in shock but where is the Culture!!!!
Let’s just define the culture first.
Hofstede (Dutch psychologist) said: Culture is the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one human group from another.
Well, considering this definition. I think anyone can distinguish the American culture from any other. Recently, I came across an analysis titled “THE VALUES AMERICANS LIVE BY” By L. Robert Kohls.
He basically categorized the American culture into 13 values.
